Charity Digital Code

Helping charities improve how they use digital and secure their own futures
Access the Code

We co-funded the Charity Digital Code of Practice through a grant to the Small Charities Coalition to help boost digital skills and confidence across the charity sector.

This followed findings from the 2017 UK Business and Charity Digital Index that said only 48% of charities had basic digital skills.

Working with a steering group of digital and charity leaders, led by digital expert Zoe Amar, in 2018 we helped to publish seven guiding principles to charity digital use.

Read this blog from our Chair, Jamie Ward-Smith, on what the Code means for charities. Charities can also assess themselves against the Code using this tool from The Digital Collective and digital fundraising solutions provider Hubbub Fundraising.

Our support continued in April 2019, when we committed a £50,000 grant to part-fund  year-two development of the Code. Subscribe to our blog for more updates.
