Our strategy 2022-2027
Co-op’s charity
Co-op is the UK’s largest consumer co-operative with millions of member owners. As Co-op’s charity, we’re here to meet the needs of those member owners, helping to tackle issues that are important to them and their communities.
Co-op members have told us that they want safer and more sustainable communities and for young people to have fair access to opportunity. These are priorities that are shared by the young people we worked with to co-create our vision and strategy.
Vision
We invited young people from across the UK to help us develop our Future Communities Vision. Young Co-op Members, young Co-op colleagues and Co-op Academy students shared their hopes for what communities in the future would be like.

Strategy
In 2022 we developed our strategy ‘Building Communities of the Future Together’. Through cooperating with young people and organisations across the UK we want to help build the communities set out in our Future Communities Vision. Our strategic priorities are: Safer Communities, Sustainable Communities, Diverse, Equitable and Inclusive Communities and Youth Leadership.
Theory of change
We’re committed to continually improving how we work so we can support the young people and organisations we fund to have a greater impact in their communities. We will use our theory of change to track progress against achieving our outcomes and impact, reflect on our activities and improve our work.
