A year of co-operating for fairer communities
Our CEO, Nick Crofts, takes a look back at 2024 and celebrates the incredible work of our funded partners.
We’re supporting young people to drive positive change in their communities.
At the start of 2024, we awarded £8k to Alaa Alsewid, 29, through our Funding Futures Programme.
This helped kick-start her idea for a social enterprise that would use lived experience, local knowledge, and cultural understanding to deliver training to communities that need it most.
Learn more about Alaa’s work >Thomas Cockcroft, 25, is a Young Gamechanger, having received funding from our Young Gamechangers Fund to help him grow FungALL.

We joined forces with Blagrave Trust to run a collaborative workshop at the 2024 Association for Charitable Foundations (ACF) Leaders Forum focused on Climate and Nature Emergency.

From designing funds to helping us make decisions, it’s important to us that young people have a seat at the table.
Ensuring young people’s voices remain at the centre of our decision-making is so important to us.
In 2024, we ran our first Hackathon event, in collaboration with Co-op, to bring together 32 young people and find out the best way to meaningfully involve them in our work.
See what we learned in this blog >Our Future Communities Collective puts youth voice right at the centre of our work.
They’re a group of young people aged 17-25 from across the UK who bring their experience and expertise to the table to help us design and make decisions on our youth-led funds.
Learn more about they got up to in 2024 >Hate divides communities, co-operation builds them.
In 2024, we supported our funded partners that were affected by the far-right riots.
